Tennessee State softball standouts Hailey Hunt and Tianna Salcido have been recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference, with Hunt earning OVC Co-Player of the Week and Salcido named OVC Co-Pitcher of the Week for their stellar performances.

Salcido was dominant in the circle, delivering two scoreless outings and posting a 0.00 ERA over 7.2 innings pitched. She was nearly untouchable in her March 29 start against Morehead State, tossing a five-inning no-hitter with one strikeout and two hit batters in an 8-0 shutout victory. She followed up with 2.2 scoreless innings on March 30, allowing just three hits while keeping Morehead State off the board in a 12-2 win. With a 2-0 record, no runs allowed, and just five baserunners across two appearances, Salcido was a key force in the Tigers’ success.

Hunt put together an outstanding offensive week, hitting .600 (6-for-10) with a .667 on-base percentage and an .800 slugging percentage across four games. She shined in the Morehead State series, going 6-for-7 with six RBIs, including a three-hit, three-RBI performance in game two of the doubleheader. Hunt also showcased her versatility, drawing two walks, stealing a base, and remaining error-free in the field.
