New Florida International University head football coach Willie Simmons has assembled his first staff. The Panthers’ new head shared the news via a post on X.
Per Zach Barnett of footballscoop.com:
- Nick Coleman, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks
- Frank Ponce, associate head coach/tight ends
- Benedick Hyppolite, running backs
- Jelani Berassa, wide receivers
- Edwin Pata, offensive line
- Jovan Dewitt, assistant head coach/defensive coordinator/outside linebackers
- Kenechi Udeze, defensive line
- Ryan Smith, linebackers
- Anthony Gaitor, cornerbacks
- Kenneth Gilstrap, special teams coordinator/safeties
Coach Simmons and his new staff have their work cut for them as they seek to rebuild a program that has only four winning seasons ( 7-6 in 2010, a pair of 8-5 marks in 2011& 2017, as well as going 9-4 in 2018) since 2002.
