Florida A&M head coach Willie Simmons resigned today to accept a position as running backs coach on Manny Diaz’s staff at Duke. Ending much speculation about his future that was initially reported by Offscript late last week. Simmons and the Rattlers’ success has led to Simmons being named the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) FCS Region 3 Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Under Simmons’ leadership this season, the Rattlers finished the regular season with their highest national ranking and first 11-win season since 1998.…

Deion Sanders agrees that FAMU should have been in the FCS playoffs

Despite going 9-2, including winning nine consecutive games after dropping their first two contest, the selection committee saw fit to snub FAMU from the postseason. The exclusion of Florida A&M from the FCS playoffs caused consternation, only in Rattler Nation ,but many in the HBCU fanbase and media contingent.
