The WNBA has officially rescinded the eighth technical foul assessed to Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, allowing her to avoid an automatic one-game suspension.
Clark was initially whistled for a technical during the Fever’s 90-86 victory over the Chicago Sky after making incidental contact with an official while chasing a loose ball out of bounds. The Fever quickly appealed the ruling, arguing the contact was accidental.
After reviewing the play, the league agreed and overturned the technical.
The decision reduces Clark’s season total from eight technical fouls back to seven, keeping her below the threshold for an automatic suspension. As a result, she is expected to be available for Indiana’s upcoming showdown with the New York Liberty.
The ruling is significant for both the Fever and the WNBA. Clark has been one of the league’s biggest stars this season, and her availability is critical as Indiana continues its push toward the postseason.
