He was one of eight players to garner a spot on the All-America second team. Carter becomes the 10th different Spartan player to earn accolades from BOXTOROW, which released its 13th annual All-America team this year. The machinations of the post-trade NBA continue to play themselves out. Austin Rivers who was involved in the three-team deal that sent George Hill to the 76ers and young big man Tony Bradley to the Thunder, was waived by Oklahoma City on Sunday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Spurs to sign veteran big man Gorgui Dieng

From Rob Goldberg of B/R: The San Antonio Spurs will sign center Gorgui Dieng when he clears waivers, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times. Dieng was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday after the team was unable to find a trade before Thursday’s deadline. The 31-year-old was reportedly in high demand once he became available, with Stein reporting interest from the New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets.
