The Golden Rams won their 5th straight game after defeating the Fort Valley State Wildcats (3-0) on volleyball homecoming at The Jones Brothers Health, Physical Education and Recreation Complex on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Golden Rams improved to (14-10) overall and (14-1) in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. It was the Golden Rams 10th victory at home.
The Wildcats fell to (10-12) overall and (5-10) in the conference.
The Golden Rams won set 1 by the score of (25-19). In set 2, the Golden Rams outlasted the Wildcats (27-25). The Golden Rams raced by the Wildcats (25-14) in set 3.
Khamari Trotter and Kaylin Teasley led the Golden Rams with 9 kills each. Trotter also led the Golden Rams with 4 blocks. Natalie Onozie finished with 20 assists. Sydney Melton paced the Golden Rams with 7 digs.
Morgan Hebert led the Wildcats with 6 kills while Laiani McCullough finished with 3 aces. McCullough also led the Wildcats with 17 assists. Morgan Gooden, Nia Mack and Brooke Matthews finished with 2 blocks each for the Wildcats. Nakaia Berekley finished with 12 digs.
