Former Prairie View A&M quarterback Cameron Peters is taking the next step in his football career.
Peters has signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, giving the former Panthers standout an opportunity to continue his professional career north of the border.
Peters finished his Prairie View A&M career after two seasons with an impressive résumé. He threw for 3,723 yards and 27 touchdowns, while adding 598 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns on the ground.
His time in the SWAC also included one of the most successful seasons in recent Prairie View A&M football history.
Peters helped lead the Panthers to the 2025 SWAC championship, earning Prairie View A&M a spot in the Celebration Bowl for the first time in program history.
Now, Peters will look to compete for an opportunity with the Tiger-Cats and continue his journey from HBCU football to the professional ranks.
For Prairie View A&M, his signing represents another example of the talent emerging from the SWAC and HBCU football.
For Peters, it is the beginning of a new chapter.
