Albany State adds Dejuan Sharp as Strength and Conditioning Coach

Dr. Kristene Kelly, Director of Athletics, has announced DuJuan Sharp as the new Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Albany State University.
 
Coach Sharp is a native of Dayton, OH, who earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Urbana University, (Urbana, OH) in Business Administration with a focus in Management 07′.  During his time at Urbana University, Sharp was also a part of the Blue Knight Football program.
 
As a former collegiate athlete, Sharp maintained a passion for performance and initially excelled in the private sector as a sports performance coach, aiding in the development of many of the youth and high school athletes in the Nashville area.  One of Sharp’s most notable collaborations was working with one of his mentors, Lamont Ramsey, of Ramsey Performance Training, primarily working with collegiate and professional athletes during their off season.
 
In 2017, Sharp received his opportunity within the Nashville, Tennessee high school private sector beginning at Lighthouse Christian School to lead as its Athletics Director and Head Football and Strength Coach.  In 2019, Sharp was at Father Ryan High School as the Head Football Strength and Conditioning coach, as well as assisting with the other 29 teams.  In 2021, Sharp was at The Ensworth High School as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach.
 
Sharp holds nationally accredited certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC), USA Weightlifting Certified Sports Performance Coach (Level 1), and American Red Cross, First Aid/CPR/AED certified.

We believe his expertise will play a pivotal role in helping our student-athletes reach their full potential, both on and off the field. We look forward to the positive impact he will undoubtedly bring to the ASU RAMily,” said Dr. Kristene Kelly.
 
Coach Sharp is married to Ti’Ana Sharp and they have two sons, DuJuan III and Drayke.  Sharp is a proud member of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
