Game 2

The second half of the double-dip did not go as well for Albany State as Shorter bounced back to hand the Golden Rams an 8-4 defeat.

The Rams got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the first inning, but the ASU bats were fairly quiet the rest of the game, only able to generate one more run.

Lyndon Weaver’s homer in the second and the three runs scored in the third, via a two-run single from Cory Mason and Justin Barnes crossing home after an ASU wild pitch, would put the Hawks up 4-3.

Hill Corley’s single up the middle in the fourth inning tied the game at 4.

An infield error by Albany State would be the catalyst for a four-run fourth inning that included an RBI groundout and a two-run blast from Justin Barnes would close out the scoring at 8-4.

Up next for the Golden Rams is their home opener against the Magicians of Lemoyne-Owen February18 and 19.
