Albany State baseball to host three-game series against Benedict

The Albany State University Golden Rams baseball team will host the Benedict College Tigers for a 3-game series on April 15-16.  The Golden Rams are 21-8 (20-3 in the SIAC).  The Tigers are 3-30 (2-20 in the SIAC). 

On Friday, April 15, the Golden Rams and the Tigers will play a doubleheader.  The first pitch is scheduled at 3:00 pm.  On Saturday, April 16, the Golden Rams and the Tigers will play at 1:00 pm.  The Golden Rams will honor the seniors at 12:40 pm prior to the start of the game. 

The Golden Rams have won 9 out of their last 10 games while the Tigers will enter the series on an 11 game losing streak.  The Golden Rams and the Tigers haven’t played against each other since March 31, 2019.  On that day, the Tigers won 9-5.

Chase Karn is leading the Golden Rams with a batting average of .431.  Nicholas Hernandezis leading the Golden Rams with 8 homeruns and 40 hits.  Nicholas Hernandez is leading the Golden Rams with 38 RBIs.

The Golden Rams pitchers have allowed 124 earned runs and have a team ERA of 5.06.
