Albany State stuns FAMU in double OT, 92-85

The Albany State Golden Rams defeated the Florida A&M Rattlers (92-85) in double overtime in the Lawson Center on Wednesday evening, in Tallahassee, Florida.    
 
After a back and forth 1st half, the Golden Rams trailed the Rattlers (36-37) at halftime.  The Golden Rams continued to play with confidence and led most of the 2ndhalf.  But, a late rally by the Rattlers led to a (73-73) tie at the end of regulation.
 
After the 1st overtime period expired, the teams were still tied (80-80).
 
In the 2nd overtime, the Golden Rams stormed to an (86-80) lead and cruised to a 7 point victory over the Rattlers on their home court.  With the win, the Golden Rams avenged a (70-65) overtime victory by the Rattlers on November 21, 2022.
 
As a team, the Golden Rams shot 41.5% from the field, 57.7% from the 3-point line and 65.7% from the free throw line.
 
Shakur Poteat led the Golden Rams with 31 points and 5 assists.  Poteat finished with (6) 3-pointers in the game.  Reggie James scored 14 points off the bench for the Golden Rams.  Jamir Moore finished with 12 points and made (4) 3-pointers in the game.  Dylan Edwards added 12 points for the Golden Rams.
 
The Rattlers shot 43.8% from the field, 26.3% from the 3-point line and 72.7% from the free throw line.
 
Keith Lamar led the Rattlers with 29 points and 11 rebounds.  Hantz Louis-Jeune finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds.  Shannon Grant added 13 points and 7 rebounds.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in action against Lane College at 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 2, in Jackson, Tennessee.
