Albany State Women’s Hoops falls 63-60 to West Georgia

In their final game of the year, the Albany State Golden Rams were defeated by the West Georgia Wolves 63-60.
 
The Golden Rams started hot and led 19-9 at the end of the 1st quarter.  The Golden Rams increased their lead to as many as 14 points in the 2nd quarter and led 36-29 at the half.
 
The Golden Rams only scored 6 points in the 3rd quarter and were outscored 16-6 by the Wolves.  Entering the 4th quarter, the Golden Rams trailed by 3 points.  The teams traded baskets throughout the quarter as both teams scored 18 points in the final stanza.  Once again, a dismal 3rd quarter ultimately doomed the Golden Rams as they lost 63-60.
 
Ka’Shay Hankerson led the Golden Rams in scoring with 19 points.  Bri’elle Johnsonfinished with 16 points off the bench.  Chelsea Hill contributed with 11 points.
 
Zaria Bankston led the Wolves in scoring with 17 points.  Siera Carter and Valencia Carroll scored 16 and 10 points, respectively.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in action against Kentucky State University on Monday, January 3.
