From the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Ira Winderman: Goran Dragic confirmed during the opening minute of Friday’s NBA free-agency negotiation period that he will return to the Miami Heat. The agreement means the Heat effectively are removed from the salary-cap space game to directly sign a high-priced outside free agent. A sneaker sale in Hartford, Connecticut ended in armed robbery. The sale of the sneakers was arranged on Snapchat and a meeting location of 447 Barbour Street was set. From Jenna Ciccotelli of Bleacher Report: The Golden State Warriors announced Thursday that guard Klay Thompson is expected to miss his second straight season because of a leg injury. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported Thompson tore his Achilles during a workout Wednesday, though he is expected to make a full recovery. He missed the 2019-20 season after he tore the ACL in his left knee during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has signed a multiyear signature shoe deal with Chinese brand Li-Ning, according to Nick DePaula of ESPN. DePaula adds that Butler will become the face of the brand, which also has a lifetime deal with Butler’s friend and former teammate, Dwyane Wade. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz have engaged in deal that will move the Knicks up in Wednesday’s NBA Draft. The Knicks are sending their No. 27 and No. 38 picks to the Jazz in exchange for the No. 23 picks. As icing on the cake, Utah is sending over the the draft rights to 2008 second-round pick Ante Tomic, 33, who is not expected to come to the NBA. The Knicks now have the No.8 and No. 23 selections.
