Tennessee State hits the road to take on Kennesaw State

Tennessee State’s Monroe Beard named Big South-OVC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Tennessee State linebacker Monroe Beard was named Big South-OVC Co-Defensive Player of the Week. Beard, a junior out of Chattaanooga, Tennessee, set the TSU single-gmae record for tackles, with 19 in the Tigers, 20-10 loss at UT Martin on Saturday. Hampton Smith, the most successful coach in the history of Albany State football has passed away at the age of 89 according to a statement released by the University. “On behalf of President Marion Ross Fedrick, Albany State University is deeply saddened to share the passing of former ASU football and baseball Coach Hampton Smith. AD/Communications, Norfolk State Athletics Norfolk State University freshman kicker Noah Tracey was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.  Tracey, a native of Springwood, Australia, punted the ball five times on Saturday against Temple for 194 yards, with one punt inside the 20-yard line.
