There were three games scheduled for Wednesday’s Southwestern Athletic Conference women’s hoops action , but only one actually got take the court, with the Alabama A&M /Nicholls State and Alcorn State’s matchup with Texas both being cancelled due to the perniciousness of COVID-19. Grambling was the only SWAC team that remained in action and the Lady Tigers defeated New Orleans 61-49, to bring them to 3-8 on the season. Jackson State v Southeastern Baptist men’s hoops game cancelled

COVID-19 has claimed year another HBCU’s basketball game, the latest being Jackson State’s home opener against Southeastern Baptist, which was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. This is the second consecutive contest that have been cancelled for the Tigers, their December 21 tilt against Stephen F. Austin cancelled for the same reason. Despite the setback, the JSU men’s hoops( 2-9) team is expectant to resume action when they tip-off Southwestern Athletic Conference play Monday, January 3 against the Tigers of Bethune-Cookman.

Florida A&M v Illinois game cancelled

In shade resembling that awful flustercuck that was the year 2020, colleges basketball games are being cancelled. The Florida A&M men’s hoops teams were set to take on the Fighting Illinois of he University of Illinois, but due to COVID-19 issues within the Illini program, the contest was cancelled. Per Famu Athletics, the next game tips off SWAC play Monday January 3, 2022 when the Rattlers head to Daytona to take on the Wildcats of Bethune.

Coppin State Men’s Basketball cancels next games

Courtesy of Coppin State Athletic Communications BALTIMORE – The Coppin State University men’s basketball games scheduled for Dec. 23 and Dec. 29 against George Mason and Indiana State, respectively, have been canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests within the Coppin program. Howard Women’s Basketball announces abeyance in activities
