After building a 17-0 lead on Delta State in the W.C. Gorden Classic The Jackson State Tigers looked poised to cruise to a comfortable victory , however the Statesmen battled back to make it a game that the Tigers would hang on to win, 24-17. It was an evening of woe for Grambling State at TDECU stadium; the Houstong Cougars were anything but hospitable and laid a 45-0 beat down on the Tigers. Shadeur Sanders named Stats Perform FCS National Player of the Week

Jackson State quarterback Shadeur Sanders was named Stats Perform FCS National Player of the Week. Sanders was outstanding in JSU’s 38-16 rump -kicking of Tennessee State in the Southern Heritage Classic, completing 30 of his 40 pass attempts for 362 yards and three touchdowns. His 30 completions set a SHC record. The Tigers of Jackson State head to Monroe, Louisiana to take on Louisiana-Monroe this Saturday night in another nationally televised game on ESPN3.
