2023 Move-in day for Albany State freshmen and transfers

Courtesy of Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics Quinn Gray, Sr., the 14th head football coach at Albany State University, welcomed a plethora of freshmen and transfers to campus for move-in day on Tuesday, August 1. The day started with players checking in and moving into their dorm rooms between 8:00 am – 11:00 am.  At 11:30 am, Coach Gray and his staff held a players and parents meeting.  During the meeting, Dr. Kristene Kelly (Director of Athletics) was introduced.  After lunch, the players participated in several breakout sessions on topics…

A pair of Golden Rams prepare to compete at D-II Track&Field Championships

Courtesy of Dr. Earnest Brown , Albany State Athletics Two members of the Golden Rams Track & Field team are ready to compete at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The championships will be held May 25th-27th inside the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado with Colorado State University, Pueblo serving as host. A total of 754 participants, 377 men and 377 women, will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event. Lane’s Millay Lambert headlines the all-conference team after being selected as the 2023 SIAC Player of the Year and Utility Player of the Year. Albany State softball opens up SIAC Tournament against Miles

The Albany State University softball team finished the season with a 5-14 overall record and 16-6 within the SIAC. AS a result of their onfield exploits the GOlden Rams secured the #2seed in the upcoming SIAC Softball Tournament, for which ASU is the host school, will commence Tuesday, May 2. Albany State baseball sweeps Spring Hill, secures #1 seed in SIAC tourney

Albany State siftball to host arch-rival Fort Valley State

This weekend Albany State softball ( 21-13, 14-5) will host Fort Valley State ( 15-18, 9-9) in a three-game series. Saturday the two squads will square off in a doubleheader, with the first pitch scheduled for 2 pm EST. Sunday’s action will commence at 1 PM EST. The Golden Rams and the WIldcats last met on May 6 2022, with Albany State coming away with a 5-1 victory.
