Porzingis fined for kicking ball into stands

Kristaps Porzingis will be slightly lighter in the wallet. The NBA announced Wednesday afternoon the Mavericks big man was fined $15,000 by the NBA for booting a ball in to the stands in the fourth quarter of the team’s 130-92 beatdown at the hands of the Golden State Warriors Here is that punt that cost him 15k. On the season Porzingis is averaging 19.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.1 assist and 20 rows per punt.

Mavs hire Jason Kidd, new coach signs 4-year deal

From Mike Chiari of B/R: The Dallas Mavericks reportedly agreed to make Jason Kidd their new head coach Friday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported Kidd agreed to a four-year contract. Charania added that Dallas also hired Nico Harrison as its new GM and head of basketball operations.
