Should the Portland Trail Blazers manage your defeat the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night in game 5 of their opening round playoff series, they would likely head into a game 6 still without Damian Lillard, according to Chris Haynes OG Yahoo Sports. An already daunting task has been made even more difficult as the Portland Trail Blazers will be with out their best player as they fight to continue their season in game 5 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Damian Lillard had an initial MRI on Monday that came back inconclusive but a subsequent on Tuesday confirmed the strain on the right knee. Lillard apparently suffered the injury in the third quarter game 4 when he planted the leg while attacking the basket.

According to the Portland Trail Blazers, the MRI on guard Damian Lillard’s right knee came back inconclusive. The injury occurred in the third quarter of the 135-115 smackdown the Lakers laid on the Blazers in game four of their opening round playoff series. Lillard left the game and did not return. The Brooklyn Nets, who had their season ended Sunday, are now reportedly going after Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Popovich has shown no indication that he intends to leave San Antonio, even if the Nets , on paper, have a better roster and he has coached both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving though their times with USA Basketball.
