Pelicans to name David Griffin Pelicans Executive VP of Basketball Operations

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a deal with David Griffin to run their basketball operations. Although Griffin’s job will be to run the Pelicans’ basketball operations, his official title has not be set in stone but Wojnarowski adds that it will likely be Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations. Luke Walton and Los Angeles Lakers Part ways

In news that should make Lebron James smile, the Los Angeles Lakers and head coach Luke Walton have agreed to a mutual parting of the ways. The team made the announcement on Friday afternoon that after three years Walton would no longer be their head man. The move comes as little shock, as Walton’s job security became tenuous the day that Lebron James was signed. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Miami Heat have waived forward Rodney McGruder. The move seems to be a cost-cutting one , as indicated by the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Ira Winderman. Even if another team does claim him, McGruder is playoff ineligible.
