The strange odyssey for Patrick McCaw has taken a new turn. The former Golden State Warriors guard left a guaranteed 2 year, $5.2 million deal on the table to sign a non-guaranteed 2 year, 6 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 28. He was cut a mere three games into his tenure with Cleveland. The sign-and-cut has raised a few eyebrows and will now be the subject of an NBA investigation. According to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, Memphis Grizzlies swingman Dillon Brooks will “likely” be out for the rest of the 2018-19 season. Charania adds the injury should not impede him for having full summer workouts. This will wrap up an injury-plagued season for the Oregon product. It seems that the fervor over the run of these games of such prolific scoring caused the focus to be laid on the numbers solely and not to take into account the circumstances under which they occurred. Call me crazy but efficiency matters. Over the course of these twelve games, Harden has only shot 50% or better 3 times and only better than 45% once. The rest of the games saw Harden connect with 43% or less of his shot attempts, including two clunkers of 7-23 and 12-34 respectively. I realize…

Wojnarowski adds that the Bulls will send a future conditional second-round pick to finish the deal off and apparently the move was a cost cutting one for Houston, as they would have been on the hook to fully guarantee Carter-Williams’s deal for this season had he been on the roster as of 5PM today. Carter-Williams will not have to worry about living arrangements in the Wiondy City, because…

Tom Thibodeau and I have something in common- neither of us are employed by the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to multiple sources, he was relieved of his duties as both President of Basketball Operations and head coach on Sunday. Oddly enough the firing came following the team’s 22-point shellacking of the Los Angeles. According to league sources, CEO Ethan Cason, accompanied by general manager Scott Layden strode in Thibodeau’s office after the game and fired him. It seemed that Thibs had no idea that this was coming. He expected that he…

Read MoreBulls trade Justin Holiday to Grizzlies for Seldon, Brooks and picks
As the NBA season progresses there will emerge teams that ,around the trade deadline, will emerge as buyers or sellers. With their 10-28 ( and now on Zion watch or RJ watch) the Chicago Bulls would definitely fall into the seller category. They let that be known by trading Justin Holiday to the Memphis Grizzlies for Marshon Brooks, Wayne Seldon and a second round pick in 2019 and 2020.
