Jeff Hornacek reportedly out in New York

According to ESPN’S Adrian Wojnarowski, Jeff Hornacek is out after only two seasons as the Knicks’ head coach. He was shown the door after Wednesday’s season finale. The Knicks finished the season 29-53 and just 60-104 while at the Knicks’ helm. “Jeff is a true professional who has worked tirelessly for this organization the last two seasons,” Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry said in a statement. “We sincerely appreciate his efforts and considerable contributions to the team and wish him well in his future endeavors.” Forward…

Kevin Durant plans to opt out contract and restructure deal with Golden State

According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, Kevin Durant will opt out his current deal with the Golden State Warriors and enter unrestricted free agency. However it seems unlikely this is to be courted by other teams, as this is to allow him to restructure a new deal with the Warriors. Earlier today the Los Angeles Lakers announced that point guard Isaiah Thomas will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his injured right hip Thursday. According to ESPN.com’s Adrian Wojnarowski Dr. Bryan Kelly of the Hospital for Special Surgery, who will be performing the surgery, had this to say: We will be doing a minimally invasive procedure to ‘clean up’ the joint of all inflammatory debris related to his injury from last season. LiAngelo Ball enters the NBA Draft

LiAngelo Ball has declared for the 2018 NBA draft. The 19-year-old formally submitted paperwork to enter the upcoming draft. Ball is expected to workout for several NBA teams and will take part in the Pro Basketball Combine at IMG where team executives will be in attendance. Ball played for the Lithuanian team Vytautas Prienu this past season along with younger brother LaMelo. LiAngelo is currently averaging a league-high 15.7 PFG. He also averaged 2.9 rebounds per game and connected on 45 percent of his three-point shots.

IT leaves Lakers to seek options for hip

Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reported earlier today that Lakers’ point guard has left the team to get medical opinions on his hip. Trudell reports that Thomas has been dealing with pain in the hip and is traveling to New York to explore what can be done solve the issue. Clark-Atlanta rallied from 13 down to defeat Claflin and earn a spot Saturday’s SIAC championship game. Despite their All-Conference and All-American forward Brandon Morris picking up two early fouls, Benedict was able to build a ten-point halftime lead off the strength of blistering shoot from behind the arc. Benedict shot 8-15 from three-point range in the first half and shot 50% overall (14-28) from the floor.
