Ivy League cancels conference tournaments

The first official sports domino related to the coronavirus has fallen. Tuesday the Ivy League announces the cancellation of both their men’s and women’s conference basketball tournaments. The tournaments were scheduled to commence Friday. LSU Frosh Reid declares for NBA draft, hires agent

LSU freshman forward Naz Reid announced his plans to enter the 2019 NBA Draft. Reid took to Instagram to share his plans with the world: The 6’10” big averaged 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds and helped the Tigers get to the Sweet 16 in the 2019 NCAA Basketball Tournament. He is projected as a late first round or early second round pick.

Duke basketball unveils LeBron 16 PE

Duke Basketball recently showed off a player-exclusive LeBron 16 for their ballclub. Their LeBron 16 features a black BattleKnit upper underlaid with royal blue. The swoosh on the lateral side of the heel is black, while the same branding on the medial side is royal blue. Royal Blue branding is also found on the tongue and a Duke logo makes it home on the center heel. The upper is supported by a black midsole blue Zoom Air tensiles and a black outsole. Legendary coach Tex Winter does at 96

Tex Winter, the architect of the triangle offense that helped power three-peats in Chicago and Los Angeles, died Wednesday at the age of 96. Coach Winter learned the complex system from its inventor Sam Barry while he played for the Hall of Fame coach at USC. Winter gained prominence as an assistant coach under Phil Jackson being with Jackson for nine NBA titles. North Carolina unveils new basketball court

The University of North Carolina is having its basketball reunion tonight, bringing together former Tar Heels ball players from years past along with current players. Part of the evening’s festivities is the dedication of the basketball court to Coach Roy Williams. Teams in the Dean Dome will now hoop it up on Roy Williams Court. It was announced earlier today that Villanova redshirt sophomore guard Dante DiVincenzo will enter the NBA draft, however he will not hire an agent leaving open a return to school. Dana Ford takes Missouri State Head Coaching Job

Tennessee State’s Dana Ford to take Missouri State job

Sources have told ESPN that Missouri State is expected to hire Tennessee State’s Dana Ford as its head coach. He replaces Paul Lusk whose ballclubs never finished higher than third in the Missouri Valley Conference. Coach Ford has been at TSU’s helm for four season.
