“Toxic Enironment” in Texas Tech women’s basketball

From ESPN’s Graham Hays : Texas Tech women’s basketball coach Marlene Stollings created a “toxic environment” of intimidation and fear in her first two seasons at the school, according to a USA Today Sports investigative report. In addition to allegations of mental abuse by Stollings, the report cited multiple allegations of sexual harassment against a strength and conditioning coach who resigned in March. The USA Today report cited interviews with 10 players, two former assistant coaches and two parents, as well as exit interviews obtained through a public records request. All-world Los Angeles Lakers power forward Anthony Davis will take the court against the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday night. According to the Los Angeles Times’ Andrew Greif, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said Davis would be in the starting lineup. Davis was poked in the eye in the team’s scrimmage against the Orlando Magic and sat out the team’s subsequent dress rehearsal against the Washington Wizards.

Anthony Davis left with 2:09 to go in the first quarter of the Lakers exhibition against the Orlando Magic when he was inadvertently hit across the face by the Magic’s Khmer Burch while battling for the rebound and did not return. Davis was re-evacuated Sunday and sat out the team’s next scrimmage against the Washington Wizards with eye discomfort.
