Benedict upsets Central State to advance to SIAC semifinals

The Benedict College Tigers advanced to the next round of the SIAC tournament by defeating the Central State Marauders 70-66 in overtime. From the tip, it was a hotly contested affair throughout the first half. Central State used a 7-0 run late in the first half to give them a 36-30 lead heading into halftime. Morehouse advance to SIAC semifinals with 82-75 win over Fort Valley

Earlier today the Morehouse Maroon Tigers earned a spot in the SIAC tournament semifinals with a 82-75 victory over the Fort Valley State Wildcats. The Tigers’ efforts were spread eased by Keyshawn Jacobs and Jordan Wallace, combined for 36 points of the Morehouse bench. Wallace stepped up when it mattered most, scoring 18 of his game high 23 points in the second half, knocking down 7 of his 11 shots in the game’s second stanza. Albany State defeats Kentucky State 92-79 to advance in SIAC Tourney

Randy McClure picked a great time to have his best scoring game of the season. The sophomore guard poured in 27 points to lead the Golden Rams past the Thoroughbreds in the opening round of the SIAC tournament. The first half was a closely contested back-and-forth affair that saw eight lead changes and two ties. Albany State releases 2018 football schedule

Courtesy of Albany State University: ALBANY- The Albany State University Athletics Department has released the football schedule for the 2018 season. The Golden Rams will have travel laden slate this fall with seven games on the road, including neutral site contests in Phenix City, Alabama (White Water Classic) and Columbus, Georgia (Fountain City Classic). Albany State defeats Tuskegee 69-60 in regular season finale

The Albany State Golden Rams (7-20, 7-12 SIAC) capped off a challenging regular season with a 69-60 victory over Tuskegee. University (7-21, 5-14 SIAC). The Rams led wire-to-wire and led by as many as 19. Albany State’s offense shot a very efficient 50% , including going 4-7 from downtown. Albany State routs Fort Valley State 34-9 in Fountain City Classic

In his first start of the season, Albany State freshman quarterback Kelias Williams accounted for three touchdowns as the Golden Rams blew out Fort Valley State 34-9 in front of a crowd of 13,391 in the 28th Fountain City Classic. ASU got the scoring going in the first quarter after a 10-play, 42-yard drive ended with a Gabriel Ballinas 42-yard field goal, giving the Rams a 3-0 lead.
