Former Grizzlies and Celtics standout Tony Allen and another man arrested on drugs

Former NBA player Tony Allen was arrested Wednesday in Arkansas on drug charges.  Allen was the passenger in a vehicle driven by William Hatton when a traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle by Poinsett County (Arkansas) Sheriff’s Deputies.  According to the police report “During the contact, a deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, leading him to direct both individuals to exit the car.”  Allen was subsequently searched and found to be in possession of marijuana; the search also uncovered various drug related accoutrements,…

Alabama A&M decimates Talladega College, 103-32

The Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs jumped on Talladega early, essentially turning the game’s final three quarters into protracted garbage time as they laid a 103-32 donkey kicking on the Tornadoes.  Talladega took an early 1-0 lead on a Kiersten Usher free throw at the 9:44 mark of the opening quarter. Person of interest located in South Carolina State homecoming shooting

Last week, the South Carolina Enforcement Division (SLED) tracked down a person of interest relating to the shooting that occurred during South Carolina State’s homecoming on October 4. According to law enforcement, two separate shooting incidents took place on SCSU’s campus. The first took place at Hugine Suites, an on-campus residence hall, where one woman was killed, who was later identified by the Orange County Coroner as 19-year-old Jaliyah Butler. “Taxi” Air Jordan XII dropping this weekend

North Carolina Central’s Chauncey Spikes is Stats Perform HBCU National Player of the Week

Image via Doug Burt For his gridiron exploits this past week, North Carolina Central wide receiver Chauncey Spikes was named Stats Perform HBCU National Player of the Week.  In the Eagles’ 35-14 win over Howard Saturday, the senior hauled in 9 passes for a career-high 208 yards and 3 touchdowns.
