Savannah State hires Thomas Howard as head coach

Monday Savannah State announced the hiring of Thomas Howard new head football coach, the 26th coach in program history.  “This is a new chapter, not just for me, but for every SSU student athlete, fan, and supporter. Willie Simmons inks extension with FIU

According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Willie Simmons and FIU have agreed to terms on a new contract.  The new deal includes a raise for Simmons, whose current four-year deal pays him $750,000 per year, upgrades to the assistant salary pool, and the school’s revenue-sharing commitment.  Coach Simmons just wrapped up his first season at FIU.
