Bowie State basketball schedule change (again)

The Thursday basketball doubleheader between Bowie and Bluefield State has been postponed due to weather and safety concerns posed by Winter Storm Fern.  This was the second postponement of the doubleheader, as the January 28 date was a rescheduled version of the original.  A rescheduled date has not been determined and will be announced at a later date.

“Coconut Milk” Nike KD 18 coming February 2026

This upcoming iteration of the KD 18 sports a coconut mesh foundational layer overlaid with sand drift suede. This upcoming Kobe I Protro honors thestoriedhistory of the Los Angeles Lakers as well as paying homage to Kobe’s connection to SoCal.  They sport a work blue upper overlaid with cracked summit white leather at the toe. Bluetile x Nike SB Dunk Low coming this summer

This Dunk SB Low was berthed out of a collaborative effort between Bluetile Skateboards and Nike SB.  It sports a black upper, comprised of textured panels, underlaid in blue at the toe and side panels. Orange embroidery on the rear heel hearkens to the cobblestone streets of Charleston, SC, where Bluetile calls home.  Nike SB branding on the tongue, while the South Carolina State flag , makes an appearance on the back of the tongue. Dante Harris named OVC Co-Newcomer of the Week

Tennessee State guard Dante Harris, along with Southeast Missouri guard Luke Almodovar, was named OVC Newcomer of the Week.  In helping the Tigers to a 1-1 week, the University of Memphis transfer posted per-game averages of 19.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals on .552/.500/.1,000 splits.  In the Tigers’ contest against SIUE, Harris led TSU with 19 points and 3 assists. He chased that performance with 20 points, assists, and 2 rebounds in Tennessee State’s 96-86 win over Lindenwood. In 20 games this season, Harris is averaging 12.1…

Tennessee State to face FAMU in Tallahassee in 2026

Jackson State will not be the only long-time rival to return to Tennessee State’s schedule in 2026. Florida A&M unveiled its 2026 schedule and the Tigers and Rattlers will be getting it on. North Carolina A&T’s Lewis Walker named CAA Rookie of the Week

Redshirt freshman Lewis Walker helped the Aggies net a pair of huge wins against Hofstra and Towson, averaging 28.5 points on .593/.700/.947 shooting splits to go along with 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists.  In the Aggies’ 79-78 over the Pride, Lewis scored 24 points on 7-12 from the floor, including 2-3 from downtown and a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe.
