WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Chris Paul Family Foundation made a tremendous donation of $50,000 to Winston-Salem State University Athletics, Friday morning. The support of the foundation will go a long way in the department’s mission to provide quality experiences and opportunities to the student-athletes of Winston-Salem State University.
“We appreciate the support from the Chris Paul Family Foundation. We hope that this inspires more individuals to give to the WSSU Team 250 Campaign,” WSSU Interim Director of Athletics George Knox said. “This will help with our commitment to our student-athletes not only on the field, but in the classroom and beyond.”
The donation is a part of the foundation’s support of the WSSU Team 250 Campaign. With the goal of raising $250,000 within a four-month period, the Team 250 Campaign will be used to address athletics needs such as scholarships, uniforms, and equipment. Each area addressed will help to provide better experiences and more opportunities for the student-athletes of Winston-Salem State University.
“Our family is honored to support student-athletes at Winston-Salem State University,” said representatives from the Chris Paul Family Foundation. “We challenge all alumni, friends, businesses, and corporations to join – TEAM 250 – $250,000 for student-athletes. WSSU urgently needs resources for scholarships and uniforms for its athletics program.”
The Chris Paul Family Foundation are a part of over 100 donors and organizations to support the WSSU Team 250 Campaign. “We are honored to have partnered with the Chris Paul Family Foundation and we hope that alumni, the community and friends accept the challenge that they have presented to each of us,” said James DuBose, WSSU Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs.
