Coppin State to take on East Carolina in NCAA Baseball Tourney

Coppin State, who claimed victory in the MEAC Baseball Tournament , after besting Delaware State 18-12, has found out their opponent in their first round opponent in the NCAA Baseball Championship. The Eagles, (24-28) will make their NCAA Tournament debut against the Pirates of East Carolina University (42-18) in the Greenville Regional.

The Pirates, defeated the Cougars of the University of Houston 6-1 to capture the American Athletic Conference (AAC) championship. The white-out Cougars will enter the matchup on an 18-game win streak and the Eagles will likely also have to contend with hurler Carter Spivey, who went 23-8 and was named AAC pitcher of the year.

In addition to Coppin State and ECU, the other two clubs that will complete the foursome that is the Greenille Regional is Coastal Carolina and Virginia.

The Coppin State/ECU game is taking place Friday, though a time has not been announced. Whenever that first pitch is thrown it will be streamed live on ESPN+.
