D’ANGELO RUSSELL AGREES TO DEAL WITH SHANGHAI SHARKS

D’Angelo Russell is taking his talents overseas.

The former NBA All-Star has agreed to a contract with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), according to RealGM and multiple reports.

The move comes less than a week after the Memphis Grizzlies waived Russell, ending his latest chapter in the NBA.

Russell, 30, spent the 2025-26 season with the Dallas Mavericks, appearing in 26 games and averaging:

He was traded by Washington to Memphis during the offseason but never appeared in a game for the Grizzlies before being waived.

Now, Russell will begin the first international chapter of his professional career with Shanghai.

FROM NBA ALL-STAR TO SHANGHAI

Russell entered the NBA as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, selected by the Los Angeles Lakers.

His career eventually took him through Brooklyn, Golden State, Minnesota, Los Angeles again, Brooklyn again and Dallas.

His biggest individual NBA milestone came in 2019, when he earned his first All-Star selection as a member of the Brooklyn Nets.

Through 11 NBA seasons, Russell appeared in 655 regular-season games, averaging approximately 17.0 points, 5.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.
