Eddie George named Big South-OVC Coach of the Year

In a season rife with accomplishments for the Tennessee State football program, the accolades continue to rain down on TSU. 

Head coach Eddie George was named Big South-OVC Coach of the Year. 

In his fourth season at the helm of Tennessee State football, the NFL legend has led th Tigers to their most successful season in a quarter century. Tennessee State was able to lay claim to the conference championship for the first time since L.C. Cole led the Tigers to the OVC crown in 1999. TSU won 8 of its last 9 games, including a 28-21 defeat over conference leader Southeast Missouri, to claim a share of the conference title. 

Tennessee State also earned a spot in the FCS Playoffs for the first time since 2013 and the 9-3 record was the Tigers’ best win tally since a 10-4 mark in 2013. 

Coach George has compiled a 24-21 record in his time at TSU.
