TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Florida A&M University head men’s basketball coach Robert McCullum announced the upcoming 2019-20 schedule, which features two Pac 12 opponents and a team that reached the Sweet 16.
Florida A&M will play all 11 non-conference games on the road and will open the 2019-20 season on Nov. 5 against Pac 12 member Southern Cal (USC) in Los Angeles, Calif.
The Rattlers leave Los Angeles for Honolulu, Hawai’I as Florida A&M will compete in the Rainbow Classic from Nov. 8-10.
FAMU opens Rainbow Classic play against Pacific University on Nov. 8, followed by a contest with South Dakota on Nov. 9, The Rattlers conclude play at the classic against host Hawai’I on Nov. 10.
After a 13-day layoff, Florida A&M will wrap up its first month at Seton Hall on Nov. 23.
The Rattlers begin December with two tough road games in a four-day stretch. FAMU visits Kansas State on Dec. 2 and follows that with a trip to Tennessee on Dec. 4. The Vols were defeated in the Sweet 16 by Purdue.
After a nearly two-week layoff, Florida A&M visits Portland (Dec. 16), Washington State (Dec. 19) and Seattle University (Dec. 21), before wrapping up the month of December with a New Year’s Eve tilt against Iowa State.
The Rattlers continue their road swing to open January and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play Jan. 4 and Jan. 6 at North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T State, respectively.
Florida A&M will celebrate its home opener on Jan. 11 against Morgan State and will complete the two-game homestand on Jan. 13 against Coppin State.
The Rattlers will travel to Orangeburg, S.C. to face South Carolina State on Jan. 16, but will return home on Jan. 20 to take on North Carolina Central.
Florida A&M will visit Howard on Jan. 25 and Norfolk State on Jan. 27, before opening February with home contests against Bethune-Cookman (Feb. 1), Howard (Feb. 8) and North Carolina A&T State (Feb. 10).
The Rattlers will make the long-distance travel to Delaware State (Feb. 15) and Maryland Eastern Shore (Feb. 17) and will wrap up their home campaign Feb. 22 and Feb. 24 against Norfolk State and South Carolina State, respectively.
Florida A&M concludes the season on March 5 in Daytona Beach, Fla. against rival Bethune-Cookman.
