Former FSU quarterback Deondre Francois has enrolled at HBCU Hampton University. It was thought he would end up at Florida Atlantic University but it didn’t happen.
News of the enrollment was first reported by Dave Johnson of The Daily Press.
Francois was a two-year starter at Florida State; in February was he was dismissed from the program after a woman posted an Instagram video alleging the quarterback abused her. She subsequently recanted her story and no charges were filed.
In 2018, Francois started 11 games for the ‘Noles after missing the previous season with a knee injury and he threw for 2,731 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
If he can recapture his freshman form where he threw for 3,350 yards and 20 touchdowns, he can help the Pirates hit the ground running as they transition into their first year in the Big South Conference after leaving the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in 2017.
