Grambling’s James win third Offensive PotW award

For the third time this season, Grambling State volleyball student-athlete Jayden James was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league on Wednesday.

James carried the GSU offense in a pair of SWAC matches as the Lady Tigers went 2-0 against Alcorn State and Southern. She registered 30 kills, 17 digs, eight service aces, two blocks, and an assist. She posted a double-double (17 kills and 10 digs) against Southern. James is currently ranked first in the league in kills (167), service aces (17), and points (187).

GSU returns the action on Sunday and Monday, hosting Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern in a pair of SWAC contests. The Lady Tigers take on PVAMU at 4 p.m. on Sunday and TSU on Monday at 5 p.m.
