2023 SWAC Volleyball Tournament Seedings and Quarterfinal matches

Alabama State (16-0 SWAC) enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed . Jackson State’s Hope Briggs wins second consecutive Volleyball Newcomer of the Week

Courtesy of Jackson State Athletics  For the second week in a row Jackson State’s Hope Briggs has been tabbed Southwestern Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week for outstanding performance over the weekend at the McNeese Invitational. Hope Briggs continues to shine in her freshman season as she posted 13 kills and five blocks in JSU’s 3-2 win over Southeast Missouri Friday morning. FAMU Volleyball set to take part in Jacksonville Invitational Tournament

FAMU’s Dominique Washington earns AVCA SE All-American Honorable Mention

For the second consecutive season, Florida A&M volleyball standout Dominique Washington was named to the AVCA Southeast Region All-American Honourable Mention list. The only HBCU player to garner such honour in any region, Washington had an outstanding season finishing the campaign with 425 kills (65th in the nation, 1st in SWAC)and 481.5 points (71st in the nation, 1st in SWAC).
