We have a trade to announce.
The Memphis Grizzlies continue to reform their roster as they have moved into the post Mike Conley and Marc Gasol era, who were the last remaining vestiges of the “grit and grind” era. The team sent sharpshooter Kyle Korver and Javon Carter to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for DeAnthony Melton, Josh Jackson, a 2020 second round pick and a conditional second round pick.
Josh Jackson has not lived up to expectations when he was taken number four overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies hope that a change of scenery can help him reach the form that helped him become a lottery pick just two seasons ago.
The Suns will buyout Korver and there will be teams, the Bucks, Lakers and Sixers will be at the front of the line of teams looking to acquire his services.
By making the trade, the Suns will have room to be under the cap with the Rubio trade.
As a last point, with this trade it means that every first round picks that Phoenix has made from 2013-17, save Devin Booker, is no longer on their roster.
