CHARLOTTE –  Ciara Harris Ciara Harris scored 20 points but the Johnson C. Smith University women’s basketball team dropped an 54-48 decision to the Patriots of Francis Marion inside Brayboy Gymnasium on Monday evening.

Besty Burnett added 11 points to go along with four rebounds while Harris grabbed 10 rebounds on the night.

For the contest, the Golden Bulls (1-4) shot 34 percent from the floor (18-53), 36 percent from the three-point line (7-19) and nailed only 5-of-8 from the foul line for 62 percent. 

Francis Marion (3-4) leading scorers Lauryn Taylor scored 16 points and Kiana Lee scored 11 points of the evening to lead the Patriots.

The Golden Bulls will take a break for exams and look to regroup before hitting the road to face Benedict College on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 6:00 p.m.
