Though it was the KD VI that Durant wore during his 2014 MVP campaign, Nike opted to use the very popular KD IV as the canvas for this themed sneaker.
It sports a white textured fused upper; a gold-bordered blue Swoosh appears on the ankle strap, while the same branding in white appears on the medial side. A gold-bordered KD logo is present on the heel, while perched atop the tongue is a gold KD logo with a golden basketball. On the insole appears the phrase “You The Real MVP”, a callback to KD’s reference to his mother, Wanda Durant, during his MVP speech. , while a graphic behind the tongue depicts a rose and “Wanda”, Text under the strap reads “We weren’t supposed to be here. You made us believe. You sacrificed for us”, along with additional rose graphics. The attachment loops on for the straps read “Faith” and “Love.”
Underneath resides a white midsole that transitions to blue closer to the blue translucent rubber outsole.
The “MVP” Nike KD IV is slated to be released on February 16 at nike.com and select retail establishments; they will carry a 150 USD sticker price.
