Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat’s bank accounts will both be $15,000 lighter after both were fined by NBA. The Association made the announcement Thursday afternoon the reasons for the fines was for Butlr making an obscene gesture and the organization was hit for posting the incident on social media.
With 1:43 to go in the second quarter in Game 5 against the Hawks in their opening round playoff series Max Strus hit a three-pointer that put the Heat up 47-40. Butler, who did not play in the game, celebrated the score with a slight hip thrusting motion. The Heat team posted it on social media and that earned them their fine. We were able to find a Max Strus highlight reel from said game that showed the shot but not the fine-earning Butler celebration.
