The NBA trade deadline is 32 days away and as teams become aware of who they are, and who they are not, trade talks will pick up as clubs look to make a run or build future assets.
Apparently the Orlando Magic have “expressed interest” for San Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan. According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor that none of the front-office execs he spoke with would be shocked it the Spurs chose to move DeRozan.
Somehow in this era, Orlando struggles to score and DeRozan could definitely help the Magic’s struggling offense whose 99.8 offensive rating only outranks the New York Knicks and also play at the slowest pace in the Association.
DeRozan will make $27.7 million this year and will make the same next year should he exercise the player option for the last year of his contract.
Through ten games, DeRozanis averaging 19.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists on 49.3% FG for the 5-5 Spurs.
