Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: High School senior killed during sneaker sale

When Andrea Lacayo accompanied her boyfriend, Sergio Berben to a meeting to sell some sneakers, she had no idea it would be her last day occupying the realm of the living.

Berben had set up a meeting with 19-year-old George Walton to sell him three pairs of Adidas Yeezys for $935. The predetermined meeting location, for reasons that defy logic, was an abandoned house in Homestead, Florida. According to the police report, at the meeting Walton asked to try on the shoes to which Berben responded that he would need to see the money first. It was at this point that 19-year-old Adrian Cosby, who’d accompanied Walton, approached the driver side of the vehicle, shooting Berben and Lacayo, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

Police said that Berben “immediately” drove off seeking medical attention for his girlfriend. The couple ended up being transported to Jackson South Medical Center where , unfortunately, Camps was pronounced dead.

TERRA Environmental Research Institute, the Miami high school Camps attended tweeted “Our TERRA Family is mourning the loss of Andrea Camps, a member of the Class of 2020.”

Friend Vivyanna Fernandez has this to say to CNN affiliate WSVN:

She would always light up the room. She was beautiful. She was so bright. She was so soulful and so encouraging, so helpful, so friendly.

Adrian Cosby and George Walton were arrested April 11 and charged with second-degree murder and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon. Walton was also charged with second-degree murder and Cosby wIth attempted felony murder.
