Albany State women’s hoops look to keep winning streak alive

The Albany State women’s basketball team will look to keep their winning ways going when they play host to Columbus State Saturday. After dropping their season opener 63-52 to Elizabeth City State, the Rams have won two straight, defeating Johnson C, Smith 74-71 and a surprising 68-60 win over Tuskegee. Senior Kashay Hankerson leads the team in scoring with 15.0 ppg. Juanisha Black is the squad’s other double figure scorer, putting up 13.3 points per game. Albany State to take part in “ATL Has Something to Say HBCU All-Stars Challenge”

This weekend will see the debut of the inaugural ATL Has Something to Say HBCU Challenge. The event will be held at Morehouse College, it will feature SIAC and CIAA teams squaring off as well as Atlanta public high schools taking each other on. The Challenge tips off with four games, starting at 1pm EST and Saturday, action tips off at 10 AM EST with Atlanta Public School play . The Albany State University Men’s Basketball team has continued to stumbled out of the blocks of the 2022-23 season with a 87-56 throttling at the hands of the University of West Alabama.
