Kyrie Irving out against Kings with thigh contusion

Kyrie Irving will not be in the lineup when the Boston Celtics take on the Sacramento Kings Wednesday night. The team made the announcement earlier this afternoon that the star point guard is suffering from a left thigh contusion. Though the Celtics will miss the 23.4 points and 7.0 assists per game that Irving provides, the young core and other Celtics have stepped up in Kyrie’s absence this year, going 9-2 without Irving, but we are no way suggesting the Celtics, at least this season, are better off without their…

Kyrie Irving will miss Timberwolves game due to eye injury

Earlier today the Boston Celtics announced that star point guard will miss the team’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to irritation in his right eye. Irving stuffed the injury when Marco Belinelli hit him in the eye Monday night in the Celtics’ 120-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. ESPN’s Micheal C. Wright reports that Irving rocked sunglasses during his postgame media address following Monday night’s game and apparently it was not to be cool. LeBron’s huge night propels Cavaliers to Game 7

We have the first of what could be two game sevens in the Conference Finals. Down 3-2 and facing elimination, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Boston Celtics 109-99 to force a decisive showdown Sunday. The Cavaliers were without All-Star forward Kevin Love for most of the game. Love was forced out of the game following a severe head-to-head collision with Jayson Tatum. Both went down after colliding with each other. Love was helped up off the floor and looked unsteady as he walked to the bench. He was then taken…

Cavaliers steamroll Celtics 116-86 in Game 3

Already down 0-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals, dropping game 3 would certainly be the death knell in the series, their season and potentially Lebron James’ second tenure with the Cavaliers. With their wire-to-wire 166-86 dismantling, the Cavaliers have at least move the goalpost on those topics back 48 hours and most importantly, taken a step in getting back in the series. Cleveland jumped on Boston right out of the gate building 20-4 lead less than seven minutes into the game. The Cavaliers’ would lead by as much as 19…

NBA Conference Finals Part 1: The East- A battle of conflicting styles

The Celtics are enjoying a , surprising to many, 2-0 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. The matchup is a clash of essentially diametrically opposing styles: the system of the Cavaliers that is reliant on the greatness of Mr. Lebron James versus the more all-hands-on-deck approach of the Boston Celtics. The initial path this series has taken has truly exposed the Cavaliers’ style of play that accentuates the talents of one player and diminishes and relegates that of the other players to supporting cogs is highly…

Celtics overcome big game from Lebron to take 2-0 Lead

Down 1-0 after getting their clocks cleaned 108-83 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers could not afford to be in a 2-0 hole when the series heads back to Ohio. Game 2 was a much of a must win as the Cavaliers have faced this season. Lebron James was not his usual super human self, only scoring 15 points on 5-of-16 shooting and looking less and less invested in the game as it wore on and it became evident that the Cavaliers would not be…
