Courtesy of Norfolk State Athletics Fans can purchase tickets now for the 2024 Chris Paul HBCU Challenge, featuring the Norfolk State men’s basketball team at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Taking place on Dec. 19 and Dec. 20, the Spartans will compete in a four-team bracket against a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) foes. Norfolk State plays Alabama State at 5 p.m. on the opening day of the tournament, before a matchup against Grambling at 4 p.m. on Dec. 20. The Warriors have waived point guard Paul and Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.  Paul was acquired last offseason as part of the Jordan Poole trade. In a role that he nor basketball fans are accustomed to, the veteran guard came off the bench for the majority of the season and was unable to be the impactful player we have known him to be in this reduced capacity.
