The New England Patriots and Pro Bowl cornerback Christian Gonzalez have agreed to a four-year, $135 million contract extension with $102 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. The deal carries an average annual value of $33.75 million, making Gonzalez the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. The agreement was reached less than 48 hours before New England’s 2026 season opener against the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle. Gonzalez’s extension narrowly surpasses the four-year, $132 million contract Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon signed last month. Witherspoon’s deal included more than $101 million guaranteed.…
