The Charlotte Hornets will be without forward Gordon Hayward for at least the next four weeks. Saturday the Hornets announced the star forward had sprained his right foot and would be reevaluated in about four weeks. Hayward suffered the injury in the second quarter of the team’s Friday night win over the Indiana Pacers. Though the Hornets currently find themselves fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 25-23 record, the loss of Hayward is quite a blow. Gordon Hayward agrees to 4 year, $120 million deal with Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornetsagreed to a deal with the forward on Saturday worth $120 million over four years, Hayward’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. This comes after Bartelstein told Wojnarowskithat his 30-year-old client opted out of his $34.2 million contract option with the Celtics and became an unrestricted free agent. Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said that forward Gordon Hayward was “good to go” for their Christmas Day game against the Toronto Raptors. Hayward has missed the three previous games with a foot injury. A subsequent MRI reveled no structural damage. Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward will miss the team’s Friday night game against the Detroit Pistons. Hayward had been scratched from the Celtics’ game versus the Mavericks on Wednesday. Head coach Brad Stevens said Hayward has been dealing with pain in his left foot for a few weeks. John Karalis of MassLive.com reports that Hayward underwent an MRI and no structural damage was found.

Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward left the team’s game against the San Antonio Spurs with an injured left hand after colliding with LaMarcus Aldridge. Hayward met with doctors and it was determined that surgery would be the best course of action. The Celtics announced a few hours later that Hayward underwent successful surgery and he would be out for six weeks. Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward is having surgery on his injured left hand today, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Hayward injured his hand Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs. He had been playing well prior to his injury and was resembling the All-Star player that signed with the Celtics two years ago; through the first eight games he had averaged 18.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists on a scorching 55.5% from the floor, including 43.3% from downtown.

Back in October of 2018 it was reported that Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward had signed a deal with Chinese footwear brand ANTA. A clause in Hayward’s deal with Nike allowed the Swoosh to match any offer he received. They opted not match the ANTA offer and he joined the roster of the brand’s athletes. Boston Celtics small forward Gordon Hayward will miss the team’s game tonight against the Atlanta Hawks for what’s being termed “personal reasons.” NBC Sports Boston Chris Forsberg reports that Hayward is not in Atlanta with the team.
