Tennessee State’s Lowery named Big South-OVC Special Teams Player of the Week

Tennessee State kicker James Lowery was named Co-Big South-OVC Special Teams Player of the Week. In the Tigers 27-20 win over Kennesaw State on Saturday, the junior kicker belted a career-long 51 yard kick and also connected from 41-yards, extending his streak of consecutive kicks to five, all of which have come from at least 40-yards. Lowery was also 3-3 on extra points on the afternoon. This was the second time on the season Lowery has earned all-Conference honors.

Tennessee State kicker earned OVC-Big South Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance Saturday against Gardner-Webb. Lowery, a redshirt junior, on two crucial field goals in Tennessee State’s 27-25 win over Gardner Webb in the John Merritt Classic.
