Heat send Whiteside to Portland for Harkless and Leonard

The Miami Heat have sent center Hassan Whiteside to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard. Whiteside, who averaged 12.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, can provide a defensive presence in the middle that can help to erase mistakes made on the perimeter. For Miami, Leonard can provide shooting from the center position, while Harkless’ length and athleticism on the perimeter can help defensively and he can also be a respectable three point shooter.

Goran Dragic not involved in Butler deal

In the sign and trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat in exchange for Josh Richardson , it was previously reported that point guard Goran Dragic was going to Dallas, but apparently that will not be the case. Jimmy Butler joins heat in sign-and-trade

The Miami Heat have acquired Jimmy Butler via a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers , per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. It appears there is another major shift in the NBA. Dwyane Wade is nearing a deal with the Chicago Bulls,according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
