Grizzlies are not looking to buy out Andre Iguodala, want him to report to camp

The roster spots on good teams that have been allegedly reserved for Andre Iguodala will sit unfilled, at least for the foreseeable future. It appears that the forward will spend at least some time in Grizzlies gear because according to a report by The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, Memphis wants the veteran wing to report to training camp, and the team , at this juncture, has no interest in a buyout. It was thought that after the three-time champion was acquired via trade from the Warriors, that he would…

Grizzlies grant Dwight Howard permission to speak with other teams

According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, the Memphis Grizzlies have given Dwight Howard’s representation the ok to speak with other teams that might be interested in his services. There is a team out west that just recently lost their likely starting center to a season-ending injury and has a gaping hole ( no pun intended) in the middle. Howard played one season for the Lakers, the 2012-13 season and though it was painfully obvious that he had not recovered from the back surgery he had , he still managed to…

Trouble in Space City, Paul and Harden not on same page

As cliche as the phrase “Houston, we have a problem is”, is it actually quite apropos in this instance. It seems there is a developing schism between two of the Houston Rockets’ most notable players- James Harden and Chris Paul. Sources told Tim MacMahon of ESPN that the issues stem from “differences in preferred playing styles and personality”, which comes as little surprise to me. Chris Paul wants to play more system oriented basketball, which is the complete antithesis of the way James Harden plays basketball. Harden’s playing style is…
