The Latrell Spreewell dunk Honestly, nothing I could write here would be better than the reaction of the commentary team and the crowd. Watch and enjoy.     12. December 17,1997 v the Chicago Bulls http://youtu.be/0dxFuZJDMN8 This was a very highly anticipated game between the Lakers and Bulls. Our 33 Favorite Kobe Bryant Moments, Part IV

As we continue our countdown of our favorite Mamba moments, this segment focused, actually by sheer happenstance, on non- NBA regular season moments. Enjoy   18. His appearance at the Drew League During the lockout that cancelled the preseason and compressed the 2011-12 season to 66 games, it wasn’t unusual to see many top NBA guys in summer leagues across the country. Lebron, Carmelo, CP3, Wade, KD and many others took to th summer circuit to stay as sharp as possible. Kobe made a semi-surprise appearance at the Drew League…

Our 33 Favorite Kobe Bryant Moments, Part II

  28. Kobe’s sneaker free agency After his departure from Adidas, Kobe came into the 2002-03 season sans a shoe deal. What ensued was an awesome season long sneaker smorgasbord. As he destroyed cats that season,Bryant rocked Nike, Jordan Brand, Reebok, as well as And1, just to name a few. I’m not sore if we will ever see such sneaker variety from a player of his caliber, but it was fun because you never knew what we was going to wear from game to game       27. Surpassing 31,000…

TNT graphic kills Rockets

After being on the receiving end of two beat downs from the world champion Golden State Warriors, not people thinking the Rockets can even be competitive with the Warriors, much less win a game. Well, it appears the graphics department at TNT feels that way. After the Spurs throttled the Memphis Grizzlies again, this time to the tune of 94-68, TNT showed a graphic for the remaining games in the Rockets/Warriors series which listed games 5,6,7 as “not necessary.”  Based on what I’ve seen through the first two games of…

Kobe: End of a Career; End of an Era

I met Kobe Bryant’s last game with a mixture of anticipation and sports sadness. Anticipation because I was curious about how Kobe would perform in his swan song; the sports sadness stems, selfishly, from the basketball fan in me not wanting to see an all-time great hang them up. It is also in knowing that his retirement marked the end of era, as Kobe brought an old school mentality and competitiveness that will be sorely missed in today’s NBA. When he missed his first five shots’, I started thinking…

David Blatt whacked as Cavaliers HC

Apparently going to the NBA finals in your first season and being first in the Eastern Conference in your second season does little in the way of job security. Ask David Blatt who, amongst his many coaching achievements ,can now add former head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Blatt was shown the door today despite the success, amid reports of growing unrest in the Cavaliers’ locker room ( I wonder who could be the source of that?). Speaking through his agency, Priority Sports”, Blatt had this to say: “I’d like…

James Harden kicks Adidas in the groin (AGAIN!) at NBA Media Day

James Harden’s signing of a 13 year,$200 million has been extensively covered and well documented. Also extensively covered and just as well documented has been Harden’s inability,or unwillingness, to not wear the competition’s footwear. Once more the Adidas pitchman put himself in the completely avoidable position of being photographed in a pair of Nikes. This time it took place at NBA media day where he took a photograph with teammate Dwight Howard in a pair of Nike Zoom Run the One. Here is the picture: I wonder how he will…

James Harden steps out on Adidas…AGAIN!!

To most people, adhering to a stipulation not to wear the competition’s gear in a $200 million endorsement deal you recently signed would be easy. Well James Harden is not most people. For the second time in a week, Adidas’ newest pitchman has been spotted rocking the Swoosh. He was spotted in New York City in a pair of of Grey, Black and Orange Roshe Runs. Harden says that he’d ironed things out with the Three Stripes after the previous footwear gaffe but it remains to be seen how Adidas…

Harden set to sign with Adidas; Nike not matching offer

It appears James Harden signing with Adidas is likely to become a reality. Although Nike has until the end of this week officially to match Adidas’ 13 year, $200 million offer but sources say the Swoosh is reticent about tying up that kind of jack with one player when they are looking at having to sign several other star players.
