According to ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, an X-ray on Lillard’s foot came back negative, but he’s suffering from inflammation that will keep him out of the lineup. Carmelo Anthony will not be available for the Trail Blazers’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves Saturday night. Melo suffered a knee contusion in the first half of the team’s game Friday night against the Orlando Magic that kept him out of the second half. Since being signed by the Blazers earlier this season, Anthony, for the most part, has played pretty good basketball, averaging 16.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

Pau Gasol is newest addition to Trail Blazers coaching staff

Tuesday night Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stots let reporters know that the recently waived Pau Gasol would join the coaching staff after he returns from Spain. Gasol, 39, was waived November 20 to focus more on recovery from the foot surgery he had back in May. This confirmed rumblings that the two-time champion and six-time All-Star would be taking a coaching role with the team.

The Portland Trail Blazers announced on Tuesday that forward Zach Collins will be out for approximately four months after undergoing a procedure to repair his left labrum. In a release the Blazers said their young big man will begin a treatment and rehabilitation process and will be re-evaluated in about four months.
